Surveys
In-service, On-hire and Off-hire
A survey involves one of our qualified surveyors checking the container for damage or defects. It gives you an accurate picture as to the condition of your container at the time of survey. The title explains the timing of the inspection-Â
An on-hire survey is completed just prior to you taking the container on lease. This on hire survey is checked at off-hire to make sure you are not paying for any pre existing damages.
An off-hire survey cross checks that the depots estimate reflects true damage (that occurred during lease) to the container.
An in-service survey is completed during the lease, when tank is in service and for some reason requires a survey (transport damage, modifications, etc).
Cleanliness Certificates
In-service Clean Certificate, Off-hire Clean Certificate
Inspection for cleanliness are carried out to certify that a tank is free from its previous cargo/product. ATSS staff will certify tank only if it is cleaned to the required specification. This inspection can be done while tank is still on lease (in-service) or at time of off-hire, which will prove that you are returning the tank in a clean condition.
Periodical Tank Tests
2.5 year testing (air) 5 year testing (hydro)
Isotainers require periodical testing to ensure that it is still up to standard. A air test is performed for a 2.5 year test, and a hydro test completed for the 5 year testing.
